The Fall Season Is My Favorite Time of Year

The fall season is officially here which, for me, means enjoying a hot coffee latte somewhere, ie: Starbucks. Cozy sweaters and pumpkins on the porch all line up for autumn in Northern California. How about you? What does Fall mean to you and your family?

To make the fall season coffee even that much more enjoyable, I love the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Flavored Single-Cup Coffee for Keurig Brewers for coffee lattes that is popular in almost all coffee shops. There’s just something that evokes a feeling of a warm snuggle in front of a fireplace when I smell the pumpkin holiday spices.

A favorite thing that we love to do is to drive north through the Napa Valley wine country when the vineyards are changing colors. It’s a spectacular site, perfect for great photography road trips. There’s also a home that I make a special effort to look at as we go by that has tall aspen and maple trees that surround the home with gorgeous fall colors. I imagine the home full of Fall decorations and holiday spice aroma throughout.

The Fall season is a time to get cozy in your outdoor outfits and enjoy the decorations and recipes of the Autumn season. Taking great photography at the pumpkin patches and making those food ideas that you enjoy make the Halloween holiday lots of fun. “October’s poplars are flaming torches lighting the way to winter” as quoted by Nova S. Blair. Oops, maybe my favorite landscape scene is a poplar tree and not an aspen. In any event, they are both breathtaking during Fall.

This morning we woke up to a crisp, bright day with a chill in the air so I dressed accordingly. But, as happens in the early days of Fall, there is still a warm sun that is not ready to give up sharing its heat yet, and by late morning it was time to change into something cooler to wear. Then, late afternoon when the sun gets low, it is time to put on a sweater again.

Shopping is a titillating experience, too, because all the stores love to put out the brilliant Fall decorations in their windows and store displays. Everywhere we go, when I see those colors, I realize that I have a smile on my face. What is that other than to appreciate the extraordinary gifts that Nature gives us throughout the year and year after year? “A fallen leaf is nothing more than a summer’s wave goodbye.”

Autumn is the prerequisite for our major holidays coming up. Before we get stressed out later on in the Season, the entrance into Fall is a time to relax and simply enjoy the beauty and quieting down of the summertime. I’m all for that.
Then soon we will be getting ready for Halloween decorations and the harvest of pumpkins in the pumpkin patches popping up all around. Kids young and old enjoy pumpkin patches, right?

Taking great photography at the pumpkin patches and making those food ideas that you enjoy make the Halloween holiday lots of fun. Lauren DeStefano says “Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.” And “grand finale” it is, indeed. In order for us to enjoy the Fall Season to the max is to find a quiet country road that is loaded with fallen colorful leaves and kick them up as we walk.

Did you ever jump into a mound of raked leaves as a kid? Fortunately, I grew up in a neighborhood in Queens, New York where we had tree-lined streets of oaks and maples. The grown-ups may not have liked that very much as they had to rake the leaves and get rid of them, but we kids would have a ball messing up their carefully mounded collection of color. I would always save a special collection of leaves each year until they would crinkle when they dried and had to be thrown away. No worries. There would be more coming next year.
