Workout motivation quotes may be just what you need to get your exercise mojo back. Some say “I lost exercise motivation” when all they need is a little nudge in the right direction. What does that nudge look like? Whatever it is, give it to me fast because I need it! My mirror is telling me that I can’t waste any time!

When we get into a busy routine, what is the first thing to go? Right! Exercise! You lost your workout motivation and the inspiration to make the time to exercise. It always feels SO good when we’re done with our workout that we wonder what’s the big deal? Why do I find it so hard to keep up with my exercise motivation and daily routine?

Super athletes aside, I think most of us “normal people” go in spurts with this part of our healthy living. We see pictures of ourselves and think we look pretty good so exercise is not important. So, we slack off with the exercise until it is totally out of our daily regimen. But, then it happens… the numbers we see on our scale get really alarming, and suddenly we’re hell-bent on getting the excess weight and bulges off – NOW!

But, it usually takes even more than just knowing that we need to exercise to stay motivated. We look online for tips to keep us going, but sometimes it’s just some funny workout motivation quotes that stick with us. That little voice in your head that says “I can’t do this” gets drowned out by quotes that tell you “I got this!” Instead of being willing to give up, the “Badass You” springs into action with workout motivation quotes like these:

Workout Motivation Tips That Worked For Me

When I used to run every morning before work, I would start my run by saying to myself “Start slow and taper off”. Even when the run began to get difficult, I would slow down and say the same words which made it OK for me to do a walk/run. Just keep moving.

What inspires me every time I get back to exercising is to realize how quickly the body responds favorably to movement. At first, my body may feel a little achy in places to let me know that I have found muscles that haven’t been used for a while. After only a few days, however, I notice that I can move more easily and not feel so stiff.

Getting in and out of the car is much easier, and bending down to see groceries on the low shelves in the store is not a problem. I can raise up without having to push up from the floor. Did I mention that the older you get, the stiffer you get? LOL It’s much more important to move our bodies as we age and tend to get less active. Age is no excuse.

Men and Women of All Ages Benefit From Workout Motivation

My 90-year-old mother-in-law was a big inspiration for me. Every day, without fail, she would get up on her stationary recumbent bicycle and pedal away as she read her book. She would ride for 20 to 30 minutes because she knew that it helped her walk better.

She also had a rebounder (mini trampoline) that she would hold on to the bar and gently bounce up and down. This is tremendously helpful for people of any age to keep the juices flowing.

Years ago, I would play my exercise motivational music and jump on my rebounder for 30 to 45 minutes doing all sorts of things from jumping jacks to squats. I would make comments to myself like “look what I can do” or “I am so grateful I am able to move my body” as I was thinking of people I knew who weren’t able to move easily or who didn’t care enough to make themselves exercise. Enjoy your exercise sessions – make the most of that time that is just for your benefit!

Hi Christine! These are great! Here’s the one that’s been working for me lately.
    “Do it for the dog!”
Yes, that’s right – I have been walking…even RUNNING almost every day because if I don’t do it my dog is terribly disappointed in me! haha It’s true! For the last six months I’ve been getting her out for a walk nearly every day. We were both pretty badly out of shape. Now…well I have seen such a big improvement in my dog! She has lost weight and is far more energetic. And, guess what, I’m improving too! Dogs will keep you honest – they get in a routine and they expect that walk! They’re not afraid to whine and nudge you when it’s time. I highly recommend incorporating dog walking/running into your daily routine, even if it’s just 15 minutes!

Hi, Denise. I couldn’t help but laugh while reading your fun comment! Boy, you nailed it! We had the same experience with our dog about going out for her walk. She just wouldn’t let up on us until we got on our shoes and grabbed her leash. Then she was happy. Good for you, Denise, for all the activity that you are doing for yourself and for your dog. That’s great – thanks for sharing and helping all of us with your motivation!
